Canvas stretching
We stretch the canvas on a pine stretcher with wedges. It can go straight into a float frame.

A rolled canvas is stretched over bars of dry pine. Wedges in the corners let you tighten it if humidity makes it sag.
A gallery wrap carries the image over the edges, so the painting hangs unframed. A float frame leaves a half-centimetre gap around the canvas.
